With ActiveCampaign's Unbounce integration, you can connect multiple Unbounce accounts and landing pages to your ActiveCampaign account. Doing so will create and update ActiveCampaign data from Unbounce page submissions.

Take note

  • This is a direct integration with Unbounce. You will need an ActiveCampaign account and an Unbounce account to complete the setup
  • This integration is available on all Unbounce plans
  • The setup is completed from your ActiveCampaign account
  • This integration will not add contacts to a list in ActiveCampaign. If you are using Unbounce to collect contacts who opted into receiving your marketing communications, you’ll need to use the “Add to List” automation action to add them to a list
  • There is no limit to the number of fields you can map from your Unbounce landing page
  • You can use this integration to map Unbounce fields to existing Contact, Deal, Account, and private Custom Object fields in ActiveCampaign
  • This integration will not create any new Contact, Deal, Account, or private Custom Object fields. However, data from Unbouce will create new and update existing Contact, Deal, Account, and private Custom Object data records

Unbounce is changing the way OAuth tokens work. If you have an existing connection with our Unbounce integration, you must re-authenticate your Unbounce account connection(s) within ActiveCampaign. Doing so grants you access to new tokens so you can continue to use this integration.

Starting August 15, 2023, Unbounce will no longer support old tokens and webhooks will stop syncing.

Learn how to reauthenticate your connection(s).

Connect your Unbounce account to ActiveCampaign

  1. From your ActiveCampaign account, click Apps to navigate to the Apps page, then search for Unbounce.
  2. Click Unbounce to open it.
  3. The Unbounce app page will load. Click the “Connect Account” button.
  4. Type your email address and password on the next screen to access your Unbounce account.
  5. Click the "Sign In" button.
  6. The Unbounce app page in your ActiveCampaign account will reload. The "Accounts" tab will list your Unbounce landing pages. These landing pages will have an "Inactive" status.
  7. Locate the landing page you wish to connect to your ActiveCampaign account and click the page's name.
  8. Required: Map the email address field from your Unbounce landing page to the email address field in ActiveCampaign. Landing pages that do not collect an email address cannot be synced to your ActiveCampaign account.
  9. Optional: Map additional fields you want to sync to ActiveCampaign. For standard objects - Contacts, Deals, and Accounts - we will present the required fields necessary to complete mapping.
    • If you are mapping any of the following for Deal fields - Currency, Deal Owner, Pipeline, or Stage - you can map to values in ActiveCampaign or use the “Map from Source” option. The “Map from Source” option lets you override a selection from the provided list of values and go back to mapping data from your third-party source
    • Using the same field for multiple variants on your landing page will only be listed once in the Unbounce dropdown
  10. Click "Save" when finished.

A confirmation message will appear on the Unbounce app page in your ActiveCampaign account, letting you know that your settings have been saved.

Your connected page will be listed at the top of all Unbounce pages and have an "Active" status.

The Unbounce integration will also appear on the "Connected Apps" page in your ActiveCampaign account.

View the Unbounce webhook

For each landing page you connect to your ActiveCampaign account, a webhook (s) is generated. This webhook(s) is listed in your Unbounce account and is used to send all form submission data to your ActiveCampaign account.

To view the webhook:

  1. From your Unbounce account, navigate to the "All Pages" screen.
  2. Click the connected landing page.
  3. Click the "Integrations" tab.
  4. Click the "Webhooks" option.

The webhook(s) will display.

Deleting the webhook from this page will stop syncing submission data to your ActiveCampaign account. Deleting it will not disconnect the landing page.

View synced contacts in ActiveCampaign

Contacts submitting their information to your connected landing page will immediately sync to your ActiveCampaign account, and a contact record will be created for them. Contacts added to your ActiveCampaign account through this form submission will have two tags added to their profile:

  • unbounce-integration
  • unbounce-integration-[your_landing_page_name]
  • A third tag will be added to contacts if you use variants for your Unbounce landing page. This third tag will state the name of the integration, the landing page name, and the variant name. It will look something like this: unbounce-integration-[your_landing_page_name]-[variant_name]

In addition, contact fields will be updated.

Any mappings created to Deals, Accounts, or Private Custom Object fields will create or update the associated Deal and Account records too. By mapping to Deal, Account, or Private Custom Object fields in the same resource as a Contact mapping, a relationship between those records will be established. The Deal and Account records will be created with the related Contact, and the Private Custom Object record will be created in the Custom Object table view on the Contact record.

Form submissions from this integration will not add the ActiveCampaign site tracking cookie to contacts.

View landing page submission logs

Landing page submission logs in your ActiveCampaign account show successful and failed submissions from your connected Unbounce page(s). By clicking the dropdown fields at the top of the page, you can filter these logs by integration, account (Unbounce account email), and type (all submissions or new submissions).

To view the landing page submission log:

  1. Navigate to the Connected Apps page in your ActiveCampaign account. (Click Apps > Connected Apps).
  2. Click the “View logs” button on the top right of your screen. The view logs page will load all submissions made to your landing page(s). Information in the log includes:
    • Date and time the page was submitted
    • Integration name
    • Account (Email address associated with the connected Unbounce account)
    • Status (Success or Error)
    • Type (All or New submissions)
    • Details (form name)

Clicking the right caret next to the date for any page submission will display submission details. This can be used to troubleshoot submission errors.

Update field mapping

You can update field mapping for your connected landing pages at any time. Once field mapping is updated, all submissions will reflect the new mapping rules. It will not alter or change any fields for contacts who submitted their information before this update.

To update mapping for your landing page fields:

  1. Navigate to the Unbounce app page in your ActiveCampaign account (click Apps > Connected Apps > Unbounce).
  2. Click the form you wish to update.
  3. Locate the field you wish to modify and use the dropdowns to update mapping.
  4. Click “Save” when finished.

Disconnect an Unbounce page from ActiveCampaign

The "Remove" option at the top of the Field Mapping page in ActiveCampaign will disconnect your Unbounce landing page from ActiveCampaign. Your ActiveCampaign account will stop receiving data from submissions made to that page. You can always reconnect the page to your ActiveCampaign account in the future if you need to.

To disconnect a landing page:

  1. Navigate to the Unbounce app page in your account (click Apps > Connected Apps > Unbounce).
  2. Click the page you wish to stop receiving submission data from.
  3. Click the "Remove" link on the top right of the page.
  4. A confirmation modal will appear. Click “Remove.”

A confirmation message will show that the form has been successfully removed.

Future submissions made to this page will not sync to your ActiveCampaign account. In addition, the webhook generated for this page in Unbounce will be removed from your Unbounce account.

Disconnecting a page will not remove any previously synced data.

Disconnect your Unbounce account from ActiveCampaign

You can disconnect your Unbounce account from ActiveCampaign. Doing so means that:

  • The Unbounce account will no longer be listed under "Connected Apps"
  • Data will no longer be transferred from your Unbounce account to your ActiveCampaign account

Note that previously synced data will NOT be removed from your ActiveCampaign account

To disconnect an Unbounce account:

  1. Navigate to the Unbounce app page in your ActiveCampaign account (click Apps > Connected Apps > Unbounce).
  2. Click the “Disconnect” button.
  3. A “Disconnect Account” confirmation modal will appear. Click the “Disconnect” button.

The Unbounce account will be disconnected from your ActiveCampaign account. You can reconnect the integration at any time and remap fields for pages you’d like to use.

About transferring Unbounce page ownership

If you transfer a page ownership to another account, you must disconnect your page from ActiveCampaign first. Then transfer the page ownership with Unbounce, then reconnect the page within your ActiveCampaign account.

Reauthenticate your Unbounce connection

Follow these steps if you need to reauthenticate your connection. Note that you do not need to disconnect or reconnect your account, or remap fields.

  1. Navigate to the Unbounce app page in your ActiveCampaign account (click Apps > Connected Apps > Unbounce).
  2. Click "Add an Account."
  3. A modal window will appear. Click "Add new account."
  4. Sign into your Unbounce account.

Your account is now connected.
