ActiveCampaign offers a direct integration with Survey Monkey to make setup quick. This integration lets you add a survey link from SurveyMonkey to your campaigns and automation emails. However, contacts in ActiveCampaign will not be updated with survey responses.

How to set up a direct integration with SurveyMonkey

You can set this up directly from the SurveyMonkey apps page in your ActiveCampaign account or directly from your email. Instructions for each option are found below.

Before proceeding, you'll need to ensure that your surveys in SurveyMonkey have a web link created for them. If they do not, they will not appear in ActiveCampaign. Click here for more information.

Option 1: Setting up the integration from the ActiveCampaign Apps page

  1. Click on the Apps link in the left navigation menu in your ActiveCampaign account.
  2. Select “SurveyMonkey” from the Apps page by clicking the SurveyMonkey logo.
  3. Click the “Login to SurveyMonkey” button to connect the two accounts.
  4. A SurveyMonkey login window will appear. Type your SurveyMonkey username and password into the fields provided and click "Log In."

Your surveys will appear on SurveyMonkey apps page in your ActiveCampaign account:

To insert a link to your survey into a campaign or automation email:

  1. From the campaign or automation email, click into the text block where you'd like your survey link to appear.
  2. Click “Personalization Link” from the modal toolbar.
  3. An "Add a personalization" modal window will appear. Click the “SurveyMonkey” tab located on the left-side menu. Then, click "SurveyMonkey."
  4. Click the "Choose Survey" field and click the survey you wish to add to your email.
  5. The personalization tag for your survey link will appear. The URL to the survey will populate in place of the personalization tag once the email is sent.

Option 2: Setting up the integration from your campaign or automation email

  1. From your campaign or automation email, click into the text block where you'd like your survey link to appear.
  2. Click the "Personalize" button in the modal tool bar.
  3. An "Add a personalization" modal window will appear. Click the “SurveyMonkey” tab located on the left-side menu. Then, click "SurveyMonkey."
  4. Click the "Login to SurveyMonkey" button.
  5. A SurveyMonkey login window will appear. Type your SurveyMonkey username and password into the fields provided and click "Login."
  6. The login window will close and the "Add a personalization" window will refresh. Click the "Choose Survey" field and click the survey you wish to add to your email.
  7. The personalization tag for your survey link will appear. The URL to the survey will populate in place of the personalization tag once the email is sent.

In addition, your surveys will be listed on the SurveyMonkey apps page in your ActiveCampaign account:
