How to use labels with your forms

Labels are keywords that you can apply to your forms to keep them organized. Once you add a label to a form, you can filter the Forms page by that label to quickly find what you need. While similar to folders, labels offer more flexibility as you can assign more than one label to a form.

Take note

  • Forms, automations, and campaigns share the same labels. Any labels created on the Forms page are available to use with automations and campaigns
  • Edits made to labels on the Forms page are also reflected on automations and campaigns pages
  • Labels are edited or deleted from the Forms page only. Learn how to delete a label from your account

Viewing form labels

Any labels you create for your forms will appear in the "Label" dropdown on the Forms Overview page. This dropdown will also contain labels you created for your Automations and Campaigns.

How to create a label for a form

There are two ways to create a new form label on or single form or multiple forms:

Option 1 (single form):

  1. Click Website on the left menu.
  2. Locate the form to which you want to add the label. 
  3. Hover your mouse next to the form or form's name.
  4. An "Add New Label" modal will open. Type the label name into the field provided.
  5. Click the "Add label" button.

Option 2 (multiple forms):

  1. Click Website on the left menu.
  2. Locate the form to which you want to add the label. 
  3. Click the checkbox(es) next to the form name.
  4. Click the dropdown field that appears at the top of the Forms Overview page. If the form(s) you have selected have labels, the field will populate with the label name(s).
  5. Click the "Add new label" button.

The new label will be applied to the selected form. You can also apply it to other forms, campaigns, and automations.

How to add an existing label to a form

You can add a labels you've already created to a single form or multiple forms.

  1. Click Website on the left menu.
  2. Locate the form(s) to which you want to add the label.
  3. Click the checkbox(es) next to the form name.
  4. Click the dropdown field that appears at the top of the Forms page. If the form(s) you have selected have labels, the field will populate with the label name(s).

  5. Click the checkbox(es) next to the exiting label(s) you want to apply to your form.
  6. Click "Add new label."

The label(s) will be applied to the selected form(s).

How to remove a label from a form

There are two ways you can remove a label from a single form or multiple forms.

Option 1 (single form):

  1. Click "Website" on the left menu.
  2. Locate the form containing the label you want to remove. 
  3. Click the black "x"  on the right of the label you want to remove.

Option 2 (multiple forms):

  1. Click Website on the left menu.
  2. Locate the form containing the label you want to remove. 
  3. Click the checkbox next to the form name.
  4. Click the dropdown field that appears at the top of the Forms Overview page. If the forms(s) you have selected have labels, the field will populate with the label name(s).

  5. Locate the label(s) you wish to remove from the form in the list of options. The label(s) applied to the forms(s) will have a checkmark in the box to the left of the label name.

  6. Click the checkmark box to remove the checkmark to the left of the label(s) you want to remove from the form.

The label(s) will be removed from the form.

How to edit a label

To edit a label:

  1. Click Website on the left menu.
  2. Locate the label you wish to update.
  3. Click the label.

  4. An "Edit Label" modal will open. Type a modified name into the field provided or choose a new Label Color.
  5. Click the "Edit label" button.

The label will be updated on the Forms, Automations, and Campaigns pages.

How to filter forms by label

If you have several forms in your ActiveCampaign account, filtering them by a label can help you quickly locate what you need.

  1. Click Website on the left menu.
  2. Click the "Label" dropdown.

  3. Click the label you wish to use as a filter.

The Forms page will list all forms that contain that label.

How to delete a label

You can delete a label from your ActiveCampaign account from the Forms page. Once a label is deleted, it cannot be restored. This is an account-wide change
