With ACHQ, you can create and manage message variables for all of your subaccounts or franchisees. This provides a centralized space for making and sharing message variables, saving time for your franchisees when designing campaigns.
Take note
You must be an ACHQ Franchise partner to create and manage message variables.
How it works
Once you create a message variable in your main HQ account, it will be displayed under the “Sync Manager” tab of your ACHQ account in the Message variables section. From there, you can choose to sync the Message Variable, set a syncing schedule, decide which subaccounts should receive it, and edit the Message Variable’s values for a specific subaccount.
Once a subaccount receives your Message Variable, they can update it as needed. They can then use it when creating a campaign for their contacts.
Once you edit a synced message variable in a subaccount, it will stop receiving updates from your ACHQ account. Future changes made in ACHQ will not appear in that subaccount. To restore syncing, update the subaccount variable to match the current version in your main HQ account exactly.
Overview of the Message Variables section
The Message variables section is found under the “Sync Manager” tab and contains the following:
- “Sync every” dropdown - This lets you decide how often you’d like to sync updates to a message variable that you have synced from your main HQ. The updates sync to both ACHQ and selected subaccounts. By default, this is set to “Never.” However, you can choose either hourly or daily
- Search bar - Search for a message variable by name
- Sync toggle column - This is turned off by default. Clicking the toggle to “On” for a message variable syncs it from the main HQ to ACHQ and selected subaccounts. Clicking the toggle to “Off” removes the Message Variable from the subaccounts it is currently synced to
- Message variables column - Displays the name of the Message Variable that was created in the main HQ account
- Accounts column - Shows the total number of subaccounts the Message Variable is currently synced to
- Edit values column - Clicking the “Edit values” button lets you rename and edit the content of the Message Variable for each subaccount that you are syncing with
- Manage accounts button- You can access this button by clicking the down caret next to the “Edit values” button. Clicking the “Manage accounts” button lets you select the subaccounts that will sync the Message Variable
Sync a Message Variable to your subaccounts
When creating the Message Variable in your main HQ account, you must select “All lists” for it to be shareable with your subaccounts.
- Click the “Sync Manager” tab in your ACHQ account.
- Select the Message variables section.
- Sync the Message Variable from the main HQ to ACHQ.
- Locate the Message Variable you want to sync in ACHQ.
- Click the “Sync” toggle to set it to the “On” position.
- A “Manage accounts” drawer will open. Choose one of the following account sync options:
- Sync to all accounts - Syncs the Message Variable to all subaccounts.
- Automatically sync based on label - Labels are created in ACHQ and are applied to your subaccounts. If you select this option, a field will appear where you can select a label(s). The Message Variable will sync to subaccounts with the selected labels.
- Manually select specific accounts - If you select this option, you can select each account that should receive the Message Variable.
- Click the “Save” button.
The “Manage accounts” drawer will close, and the “Edit Values” drawer will open. This is where you can make edits to the Message Variable for each subaccount you’ve selected to sync.
- Please note that when editing images for a synced message variable, you must use the “Code Editor” in ACHQ
After you’ve finished editing the values and click “Save”, the sync will start. When a message variable is first synced, it syncs to subaccounts immediately. If there are updates to the synced Message Variable, the first update will also sync immediately. After that, any additional updates will sync hourly or daily, depending on what you chose in the “Sync every” dropdown.
Stop a Message Variable’s sync
To stop a message variable from syncing to your subaccounts, click the “Sync” toggle in the Message variables section and set it to the “Off” position. This action immediately removes the Message Variable from your subaccounts and will no longer sync.
