In this article, you’ll learn about the Contact tab and how to use it with your WhatsApp messaging account in ActiveCampaign.

What is the Contact tab?

The Contact tab appears on the right side of an open conversation, next to the Conversation tab. Clicking this tab displays the contact’s name and email address. It also lets you edit contact information, assign and remove contact owners, and create internal notes about the contact.

To access the Contact tab:

  1. Click WhatsApp > Inbox on the left menu.
  2. Click any conversation
  3. The Conversation tab appears on the right side of your screen. Click the “Contact” option.

Add and update contact information

The first section of the contact tab displays the contact’s name and email address. Clicking the pencil icon opens the contact’s record, where you can update their information.

Contact owner(s)

Contact owners are agents or teams assigned to a conversation anytime a customer sends you a WhatsApp message. This is useful for assigning conversations to a specific agent or team. For example, you can assign a conversation to the Key Account Manager if the contact has one.

Notes

The “Notes” section lets you view and add internal notes about the contact. This is useful for keeping track of important information about the contact that you want your team to see.

The contact cannot see any notes you create.

You can add notes by clicking on the + icon on the top right and typing the note, then clicking the “Save” button.

Configure Contact Fields

You can choose what contact information displays under the Contact tab. To do so:

  1. Click the gear icon located in the Contact tab. This is located next to “Information.”
