Take Note
A paid ChatGPT plan is required to connect to ActiveCampaign. If you have a corporate ChatGPT account, your ChatGPT administrator will need to approve this connection for your organization.
Connect ChatGPT to ActiveCampaign
- In your ActiveCampaign account, click the “Settings” (gear icon) in the upper right corner.
- Select “Developer” from the Settings menu.
- Copy your Remote MCP URL. This URL is unique to your account.
- Open your ChatGPT account and click your profile’s avatar in the lower left corner.
- Select “Settings.”
- In the settings modal, click "Apps" and select "Advanced settings."
- Toggle on "Developer mode." Note that “Developer mode” must be enabled in order to use the ActiveCampaign connection.
- Click back to return to the Connectors view, and click the "Create" button in the upper right corner.
- This will open a “New App” modal. In the modal, enter a name for the new app. You can optionally add a description of the connector in the “Description” field.
- Paste your ActiveCampaign Remote MCP URL into the “MCP Server URL” field.
- Select “OAuth” in the “Authentication” dropdown.
- Click the checkbox next to “I trust this application.”
- Click the “Create” button
- The “Apps” modal will reload. Click the ActiveCampaign option.
- The system will guide you through providing your ActiveCampaign login credentials. Click the “Allow” button to approve the connection.
Note that after connecting to ActiveCampaign, your ChatGPT account may display the message: "This MCP server can't be used by ChatGPT to search information..." This is because the ActiveCampaign connection doesn’t include deep research capabilities on its own, but it gains full functionality when “Developer mode” is enabled.
Once connected, you can open a new ChatGPT chat and start prompting. You can start by asking ChatGPT “What can you help me with in ActiveCampaign?” Find more prompt examples, below.
