ActiveCampaign Partners can customize how Active Intelligence interacts with their clients by using Active Intelligence Customization. Partners can establish brand details, content guidelines, and chat interaction styles. These customizations can be applied either across all accounts or to specific ones.

Client accounts can also access and create their own Active Intelligence custom instructions through their accounts.
Accessing the Active Intelligence Customization tool
From your Partner Portal account, you can view your Active Intelligence customizations. Start by clicking on the AI Customization icon on the upper left side of the page. This will take you to the AI Customization Profiles page.
On this page, you will see the following:
- Add new profile - Create a new Active Intelligence Customization Profile that you can assign to specific client accounts
- Name - This column lists the names of your current AI Customization Profiles
- Accounts - This column lists the number of client accounts assigned to each Active Intelligence Customization Profile
- Last Updated - This column lists the date that the AI Customization Profile was last edited
- Manage Accounts - Select the client accounts you want to add or remove from a specific AI Customization Profile
- Rename profile - Edit the name of a chosen Active Intelligende Customization Profile
- Delete profile - Remove an Active Intelligence Customization Profile from your Partner Portal
How to create an Active Intelligence Customization Profile
Active Intelligence Customization Profiles enable ActiveCampaign Partners to manage customizations at scale. This simplifies processes for partners who manage multiple industries, geographic locations, or brands. To create an AI Customization Profile from your Partner Portal:
- Click the “AI Customization” icon in the menu on the left side of the page.
- Click the blue “Add new profile” button on the upper right side of the AI Customization Profiles page.
- An “Add new profile” modal will slide out from the right side of the page. Enter the name of your profile in the “Enter new profile name” field.
- Click the “Save” button. You will be returned to the AI Customization Profiles page.
- Select the name of your new profile located under the “Name” column.
- You will be redirected to the custom instructions page. To create a set of instructions for your profile, click the blue “Add Prompt” button on the right side of the page.
- An “Add instructions” modal will slide out from the right side of the page. Click in the “Instructions” field and enter a set of custom instructions for your profile. Learn more about what you can include in your instructions.
- Click the “Save” button.
You can create multiple sets of custom instructions for your profile. You can manage which instructions to apply to your client accounts by using the toggle in the “Include” column of the instructions page. You can edit and delete the prompts at any time. Click the “Edit” button, or select the “Delete Prompt” from the down caret on the right side of the page.
Assigning a Customization Profile to client accounts
You can assign your Active Intelligence Customization Profiles to a group of client accounts:
- Click the “AI Customization” icon in the menu on the left side of the page.
- This will take you to the “AI Customization Profiles” page. Click the “Manage accounts” button to the right of the profile your chosen profile.
- The “Manage accounts “ modal will slide out from the right side of the page. Select the client accounts you would like assigned to the profile by checking the box next to the account name.
- You can also search for specific accounts by typing the client’s account name in the “Search account name” field.
- Click the “Save” button.
You can use this same process to remove accounts from a profile by unchecking the box next to the client’s account name. Please note that an account can only be assigned to one profile at a time. If you try to assign a client account to an extra profile, a pop-up will appear asking whether you’d like to reassign the account to a new profile or if you’d like to cancel.
What to include in your instructions
The custom instructions can be as simple or as detailed as you‘d like. Here are some ideas of the types of instructions you can create:
- Company Bio - This can include specific information on the company and its offerings. You can add information like the company’s mission statement and target demographics.
- Writing guide - This can outline how Active Intelligence interacts with account users and the appropriate brand voice for campaign creation. This can include tones of voice like humorous, empathetic, or encouraging. You can also provide language “dos and don’ts,” messaging themes, etc…
- Visual style guide - These instructions can help shape the visual tone and identity of the materials created by Active Intelligence. You can include specific brand colors or image guidelines and instructions on when and how to use them.
