Active Intelligence 2.8

Active Intelligence 2.8 brings seven capabilities your clients can use today. From persistent file references to proactive weekly insights, here's what shipped — what it means for your accounts, and how to talk about it.

What's New

Active Intelligence
Resources

Partners can now point Active Intelligence to reusable files stored in a dedicated Resources area. This gives teams a persistent way to add context that Active Intelligence can reference beyond a single prompt.

For partners managing multiple brands, clients, or repeat campaign workflows, this creates a stronger starting point. Instead of rebuilding context every time, teams can upload reference materials once and reuse them to improve output quality, consistency, and speed.

  • Available to Starter, Plus, Professional, and Enterprise accounts
  • Only admin users can upload Resource documents
  • Files are uploaded from Customize AI > Resources
  • Uploaded files can be renamed, summarized, or deleted
  • Users can reference a Resource by typing @ in a prompt or selecting it from the add content flow
  • PDF and DOCX files are supported in this release with summarization
  • CSV, XLSX, HTML, and EML files continue to be supported in specific flows such as Contact Import and Email Template Migration

Partners can frame Resources as a way to make Active Intelligence more useful over time. It helps clients ground AI output in their own materials instead of relying on generic prompts alone.

  • Clients with repeatable campaign workflows
  • Teams that want AI to reference approved docs, briefs, or source material
  • Accounts using Contact Import or migration-related workflows that already rely on structured files
Available to: Starter, Plus, Professional, Enterprise
Active Intelligence
Brand Kit
Brand Kit

Brand Kit helps Active Intelligence pull in a customer's visual identity and brand context so campaign creation starts closer to the finished product.

This is one of the clearest ways to reduce cleanup work across client accounts. When brand colors, logos, fonts, voice, and tone are already in the system, partners can move faster while keeping output closer to each client's standard.

  • Available to Starter, Plus, Professional, and Enterprise accounts
  • Starter includes one Brand Kit and campaign templates only
  • Plus, Professional, and Enterprise support multiple Brand Kits, campaign templates, and Brand Kit use in the campaign designer
  • Brand Kits can include logos, colors, fonts, social links, company details, mission statement, company description, and voice and tone
  • Active Intelligence generates campaign templates once a Brand Kit is created
  • Plus, Professional, and Enterprise accounts can create up to five Brand Kits and set one as the primary kit
  • AI-generated campaigns and campaign designer defaults follow the primary Brand Kit
  • Brand assets pulled from a website are stored in the Content Manager for reuse

Lead with consistency. Brand Kit helps clients move from generic AI output to campaign drafts that feel more recognizable, more usable, and easier to approve.

  • Agencies managing multiple client brands
  • Teams trying to cut revision time on campaign design
  • Clients that want AI output to look and sound more like their existing brand
Available to: Starter (1 kit), Plus, Professional, Enterprise (up to 5 kits)
Active Intelligence
Memory
Memory

Active Intelligence can now remember user-specific preferences through Memories. These memories are created from past interactions and direct instructions like "always do this" or "never do that."

This helps the experience improve for the individual user over time. For partners, that means less repeated prompting, more continuity across sessions, and a better path to scalable account adoption.

  • Available to Starter, Plus, Professional, and Enterprise accounts
  • Memories are user-specific
  • Memories can be created automatically from "always" and "never" statements
  • Memories influence future interactions with Active Intelligence
  • Memories appear in an activity feed
  • Admin and non-admin users see different destinations when clicking memories from the feed
  • Users can delete memories they no longer want applied
  • Deleted memories also appear in the activity feed

Position Memories as a way for Active Intelligence to become more familiar with how each user works. It is especially useful for teams that want to reduce repetitive setup and make output feel more tailored over time.

  • Frequent Active Intelligence users
  • Teams with repeatable preferences around tone, structure, or output style
  • Accounts looking to improve adoption through a more personalized experience
Available to: Starter, Plus, Professional, Enterprise
Active Intelligence
File Attachments
File Attachments

Users can now upload files directly into Active Intelligence during an active session and use those files as context while they work.

This gives partners a fast way to ground a conversation in source material without requiring permanent setup first. It is especially useful for one-off tasks, quick analyses, and workflows where a user needs Active Intelligence to work from a specific file in the moment.

  • Available to Starter, Plus, Professional, and Enterprise accounts
  • Files uploaded through the attachment button are analyzed and used in the current session
  • Uploaded files are only referenced for that active session
  • Summary support works with PDF and DOCX files
  • CSV, XLSX, HTML, and EML files continue to be supported in specific agent flows
  • File attachments are accessible from the Active Intelligence home page and sidebar

Partners can frame file attachments as the quick-start option and Resources as the reusable option. File attachments are ideal when a client wants help with a single document, spreadsheet, or asset right now, without turning it into a longer-term reference file.

  • One-time analyses
  • Fast campaign or content support from existing docs
  • Structured workflows such as imports or migrations where the file itself is the starting point
Available to: Starter, Plus, Professional, Enterprise
Active Intelligence
Contact Import
Contact Import

Active Intelligence can now prep contact imports by analyzing an uploaded contact file, suggesting lists and tags, mapping columns to existing contact fields, and recommending new fields when needed before the import starts.

This gives partners a faster, lower-friction way to get client data into ActiveCampaign. It reduces manual prep work during onboarding, helps clean up field mapping earlier, and gets contacts into the account in a more campaign-ready state from day one.

  • Only admin users and users with import permissions can import contacts with Active Intelligence
  • Supported contact import file types include CSV, XLS, and XLSX
  • Active Intelligence analyzes the file before any contacts are imported
  • It recommends lists, suggests tags, matches columns to existing fields, and can suggest new fields when a match does not already exist
  • Users review and confirm recommendations before the import begins
  • Each contact in the file must have a unique email address or phone number or it will be skipped
  • Brand Kit is recommended to help Active Intelligence align recommendations with the client's business context

Lead with speed to activation. Contact Import helps clients move from raw spreadsheet data to a cleaner, more usable database without doing all the prep work manually. For partners, that means a stronger onboarding motion and less time spent fixing imports field by field.

  • New client onboarding
  • Platform migrations where contact data needs cleanup before launch
  • Event, webinar, or partner-sourced lists that need tagging and field mapping before use
Available to: Admins and users with import permissions, all plans
Active Intelligence
Custom Instructions
Custom Instructions

Custom Instructions let users define account-level guidance that shapes how Active Intelligence responds, recommends, and creates. This includes brand details, content guidance, and preferred chat style.

This gives partners a scalable way to improve output quality across accounts by setting clearer expectations up front. It helps Active Intelligence stay aligned to brand rules, audience context, and working preferences instead of starting from scratch each time.

  • Available to Starter, Plus, Professional, and Enterprise accounts
  • Trial accounts can access the feature
  • Active Intelligence retains Custom Instructions data for chat interactions
  • Users can define brand details, content guidelines, and chat interaction style
  • Custom Instructions can be accessed from the Active Intelligence sidebar and from the account main page through the Customize button
Partners can also customize the Active Intelligence experience in Partner Portal using Customization Profiles. These profiles can be applied across child accounts or assigned individually. Child accounts can still set their own Custom Instructions, and account-level instructions take precedence if there is a conflict.

Lead with control. Custom Instructions help clients get more relevant output without needing to repeat the same direction in every session. For partners, the Partner Portal profile layer adds a scalable way to guide the experience across managed accounts.

  • Agencies standardizing output across multiple accounts
  • Clients with clear tone, audience, or content rules
  • Teams that want more predictable AI output with less repeated prompting
Available to: Starter, Plus, Professional, Enterprise (including trial)
Active Intelligence
Autonomous Insights
Autonomous Insights

Autonomous Insights proactively surfaces AI-powered recommendations as cards that appear on key pages and refresh weekly. Users can click into a card to open a conversation with Active Intelligence and explore the insight further.

This helps partners move from reactive support to proactive optimization. Instead of waiting for a client to notice a performance issue, partners can use these insights to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and guide smarter next steps.

  • Available to non-resold Plus, Professional, and Enterprise tier accounts
  • Not available for trial accounts
  • Accounts less than 30 days old that have not sent a campaign will not see Autonomous Insights yet
  • Insight cards update weekly
  • Cards can appear on the Home, Contacts, Campaigns, and Automations pages
  • Clicking a card opens a chat with Active Intelligence for more detail and follow-up guidance
  • Some insights support tuning by date range, benchmark, and focus area
  • Users with the Deals add-on can also see deal-related insights

Position Autonomous Insights as an always-on optimization layer. It gives clients a clearer sense of what to improve next and gives partners another way to guide strategic conversations with evidence instead of guesswork.

  • Performance-minded clients who want actionable recommendations
  • Teams looking for weekly guidance tied to campaign results
  • Partners managing accounts that need a more proactive optimization rhythm
Available to: Non-resold Plus, Professional, Enterprise (not trial, not accounts under 30 days without campaigns)
