You can use group permissions to control which SMS features your team can access. Give each group access to the campaigns, inbox, keywords, settings, and reports its members need.
Take note
- You must be in the Admin group to manage user group permissions.
- The Admin group always has full SMS access. You cannot remove these permissions from that group.
- These permissions do not control SMS actions in automations.
- The SMS permissions section appears only if your account has access to SMS.
Set SMS permissions
- Click Settings > Users on the left menu.
- Click the “Groups” tab.
- Select the group you want to edit.
- Click the “Permissions” tab.
- Open the “SMS” section.
- Select the permissions you want to give the group. Use the descriptions below to choose the access your team needs.
- Click the “Save” button.

Choose permissions for your team
Any SMS campaign permission gives group members access to the campaign list and campaign details.
With only “View” permission, group members cannot save changes, send, schedule, duplicate, or send test messages. To let a group create campaigns and send them to contacts, select both “Manage” and “Send.”
Inbox “Edit” includes both viewing and replying. Group members can use the inbox without SMS campaign permissions.
Either keyword permission gives group members access to the Keywords page. SMS campaign permissions alone do not grant access to SMS reports.
