How to insert personalization tags into your campaign

Marketing_Lite_Plus_Professional_Enterprise

Inserting personalization tags into your emails can increase engagement and improve a contact's experience with your brand. Depending on your plan level, you can personalize emails with contact, deal, or account information.

Once the email is sent to the contact, the tag you inserted will be replaced by a value specific to the recipient. When the contact receives your message, they will see information specific to them.

Personalize an email created with the Campaign Designer

The Campaign Designer gives you a drag-and-drop interface that you can use to create your campaign or automation email.

  1. From your campaign or automation email, locate where you would like to insert a personalization tag.
  2. A modal toolbar will appear. Click the "Personalize" button.
  3. Click the personalization tag you wish to insert. In this example, we're going to insert the First Name personalization tag.

The personalization tag will be added to your email.

Personalize a custom HTML email

HTML emails are created using your own custom HTML. This gives you complete control over the design.

  1. From the code editor of an email that uses custom HTML, click the area where you want to add a personalization tag, then click "Insert."
  2. Click "Personalized Content" from the list of options that appear.
  3. Click the field you wish to insert.

The personalization tag will be added to your email.

Note: If you're working from the visual editor, click the area where you would like to add the personalization tag, then click "Personalize Message." Then select which tag you would like to insert.

Personalize a plain text email

Plain text emails contain regular text and do not offer formatting options. Opens are not tracked for plain text emails.

  1. From your plain text email, click the "Insert" button.
  2. Click "Personalized Content."
  3. Click the personalization tag you wish to insert.

The personalization tag will be added to your email.
