Conversations is no longer available for purchase as of January 3, 2023.
You can connect Facebook Messenger to your Conversations Unified Inbox. Doing so lets you communicate with leads and customers via Facebook Messenger right from your Conversations inbox.
Take note
- Only primary account admins can connect Facebook Messenger to ActiveCampaign Conversations
- You have up to 24 hours to respond to an inbound message received from Facebook Messenger. This is per Facebook's Messenger Platform Policy
- You can connect more than one Facebook page to your Conversations account
- You can connect your Facebook page to only one Conversations account
- You can only connect one Facebook Messenger account to one Conversations account
Connect Facebook Messenger to your Conversations account
In this section, you'll learn how to connect Facebook Messenger to your Conversations account.
- Click "Conversations" in the left menu.
- Under "Manage," click the "Conversations Settings" option.
- Click the "Channels" tab.

Click the Facebook Messenger Terms checkbox to accept the terms then click the "Connect Facebook Messenger" button.
Facebook Messenger Terms only need to be accepted once and will apply to the entire ActiveCampaign account.
- A modal window will open and will take you through a series of steps. For the first step, type your Facebook login information into the fields provided and click the "Log in" button.
- On the next screen, Facebook will ask you if you want to continue as the person who owns the Facebook login information provided in the step above. Click the "Continue" button.
- Next, you will need to select the Facebook business pages that you wish to connect to your Conversations account. To do so, click the checkbox for Facebook Page(s) you would like to connect. Click the "Next" button.
- In the next screen, you'll need to confirm that your Conversations account is allowed to manage your Facebook page(s) and manage and access Page conversations in Messenger. The toggles will be set to the "Yes" position for you. Click the "Done" button.
- Your Conversations account is now connected to your Facebook account. Click "Ok" to close the modal window.
You can now receive and reply to messages received from Facebook Messenger. You can also manage your settings within the Facebook Messenger channel configuration.
Manage Facebook page connection settings
You can manage Facebook page connection settings from your Conversations account.
To manage any of the settings listed below:
- Click "Conversations" in the left menu.
- Under "Manage," click the "Conversations Settings" option.
- Click the "Channels" tab.
You will be able to manage the following items:

Remove account
Clicking this button will completely disconnect your Facebook account from your Conversations account. -
Enable Facebook Messenger
This toggle has two positions - "Off" and "On." Once you set up the connection between Facebook Messenger and your Conversations account, this toggle will be set to the "On" position. Clicking the toggle to set it to the "Off" position will stop any inbound and outbound messages. -
Manage Facebook Connections
Clicking the button will allow you to edit permissions and page access. -
Status toggle
Each page that you connect to Conversations will have a status toggle set to the "On" position. Clicking the toggle to set it to the "Off" position will stop any inbound and outbound messages for that specific page.
