How to hide or remove website elements with Web Personalization

Available on the following plans:

  • Professional
  • Enterprise

With ActiveCampaign's Web Personalization feature, you can use the Element Visibility dropdown to hide or remove a section from an experience. You may want to do this if you wish to hide content that is not relevant to your audience.

Hide an element

When you hide an element from an experience layout, the content of the element will disappear but the element structure will remain, leaving an empty space on your page.

You can hide an element from experiences up until they're published. It's not possible to edit experiences once they're live.

To hide an element:

1. Click "Site" on the left menu.

2. Click the "Web Personalization" option on the Site menu.

3. Click the caret for the domain containing the experience you wish to modify. The container will expand and list all experiences for that domain.

4. Click the name of the draft experience you wish to work with or create a new experience.

5. Content under the "Personalized Page" tab will load. If you have not yet created a segment for the experience, a "Create a Segment" modal will appear. Use the segment builder in this modal to create a segment of contacts who will see this personalized experience.

Remove an element

When you remove an element from an experience layout, the content and element will no longer appear. The remaining elements will adjust to account for the item you removed.

Removed elements for an experience will be moved to the "Removed Elements" dropdown on the bottom right of the visual editor. You can show or hide a removed element for an experience up until the experience is published. It's not possible to remove an element once an experience is live.

To remove an element:

1. Click "Site" on the left menu of your account.

2. Click the "Web Personalization" option on the Site menu.

3. Click the caret for the domain containing the experience you wish to modify. The container will expand and list all experiences for that domain.

4. Click the name of the draft experience.

5. Content under the "Personalized Page" tab will load. If you have not yet created a segment for the experience, a "Create a Segment" modal will appear. Use the segment builder in this modal to create a segment of contacts who will see this personalized experience.
