You can use a custom domain name (CNAME) to white-label your ActiveCampaign account, and you can use a CNAME with your landing pages to create custom URLs. In this article, you will learn the difference between these two CNAME options.

CNAME for your ActiveCampaign account

A CNAME for your ActiveCampaign account is used for branding purposes. Applying a CNAME allows you to create and use a custom login URL for your ActiveCampaign account. Any links in your emails will use a custom link tracking domain instead of the default shared link tracking domain.

To set it up, you will need to create a CNAME that points to your account URL. This is done with your domain registrar or hosting provider. Once you have your CNAME, you then need to set a domain alias. This is done on the Settings > Domains page in your ActiveCampaign account.

CNAME for your landing page

You can apply this customization to any landing page you create with ActiveCampaign. Landing pages are available with Plus, Professional, and Enterprise plans.

The CNAME for your landing page is different and separate from the CNAME you can set up for your ActiveCampaign account.

Each landing page you create with ActiveCampaign comes with a subdomain. It will look something like this: youracaccountname.ac-page.com

If you do not want to use the subdomain we provide, you can use a CNAME instead. To do so, you need to connect your custom domain to ActiveCampaign Landing Pages. This is done by adding your custom domain to the Site > Pages > Domains page in your ActiveCampaign account.

Next, you'll need to apply that domain to each landing page that should use the new domain. This is done by clicking the "Edit Design" option for a landing page, clicking the "Publish Page" button, then selecting the custom domain you want to use from the "Domain" dropdown.

Does my landing page CNAME change if I update my ActiveCampaign account CNAME?

No. Changes made to your ActiveCampaign account CNAME will not affect your landing page CNAME and vice versa.
