Use the ActiveCampaign Facebook Lead Ads integration to capture and sync leads directly from Lead Ads to ActiveCampaign. Doing so lets you:

  • Create and update contacts in ActiveCampaign when a Lead Ads form is submitted
  • Capture the information from the Lead Ads form submission and view in contact records
  • Trigger automations based on Lead Ads actions

Take Note

  • You’ll need an ActiveCampaign account and a Facebook business account with Lead Ad forms enabled to set up this integration
  • This integration does not add contacts to a list in ActiveCampaign. In order to email these contacts you must use the “Subscribes to list” automation action to add them to your marketing list
  • You must create Lead Ad form fields and ActiveCampaign contact custom fields prior to setting up this integration
  • You can only map existing Lead Ad form fields to existing contact fields in ActiveCampaign. It is not possible to map Lead Ad form fields to Account or Deal fields or for Lead Ads to create new custom contact fields in your ActiveCampaign account

    • “Manage accounts, settings, and webhooks for a Page”
  8. Click “Done.”

    • Tags are generated as you add the forms and are automatically parsed based on the name of the form. You are not able to further customize these tags.
  12. Click “Continue.”
  13. The next screen shows a list of information that is pulled in from the Lead Ads Object (anchor link to the Lead Ads object section below) that is automatically created during this integration. Click “Continue.”
  14. Next, map Lead Ads fields to ActiveCampaign fields. Note that the email address field is required. To map additional fields, click the “Add Field” button.
  15. Once you map all desired fields, click “Finish.”
  16. If you would like to connect additional forms, begin the resource set up process again by clicking "Add a new resource" and follow steps 10-14 for each form.

How the Lead Ads integration works

The Lead Ads integration uses a webhook to push data to ActiveCampaign whenever a connected Lead Ads form is submitted.

Once a Lead Ads form is submitted:

  • Contact records are created and updated in ActiveCampaign. You determine which contact data to collect during the integration setup
  • The integration adds tags to contact profile records. The Lead Ads form determines the tag that the contact receives
  • A Lead Ads object will appear on contact records for each contact synced through this integration. This object will display information about each Lead Ads form submitted
  • Three new automation triggers will be available for you to create automated workflows when a contact submits a form

Lead Ads integration Tags

This integration adds tags to contacts when they fill out the connected Lead Ads form. This includes both the integration tag and tags that include the name of the Lead Ads form filled out.

Integration sync tag

Each synced contact will receive the following integration tag: “facebook-leadads-integration.”

Form tags

These tags are generated when you add them to the integration. They are automatically created based on the name of the form. You are not able to further customize these tags.

For example: If your Lead Ads account name is “T-Shirt Emporium” and your Lead Ads form name is “Fall 2022 Merch” the tag for a contact that submits this form would be “facebook-leadads-integration-T-Shirt_Emporium-Fall_2022_Merch”.

Lead Ads object on the Contact record

A Lead Ads object will appear on the record for each synced contact. This object displays important information from Lead Ads when a contact completes and submits the form.

Each record contains the following standard fields from Lead Ads:

  • Lead Ad ID
  • Campaign Name
  • Form Name
  • Date of Submission
  • Form Field (custom fields on the form that have been mapped that will populate in the fields section of the contact record)

It is not possible to edit these fields or field values in ActiveCampaign.

Each record in the Lead Ads object has a “Details” button. Clicking this button expands the record and displays additional fields and information specific to this document’s status and details.

Lead Ads integration automation triggers

This integration comes with three automation triggers. Lead Ads triggers can be found in either the “Objects” section or at the bottom of “View All” section of the automation trigger modal.

  • Lead Ads tag is added
    • Contacts are pulled into the automation when they receive the Lead Ads tag you specify
  • Lead Ad Form is created
    • Contacts are pulled into the automation when a new Lead Ads record is created in the Lead Ads object
    • You can choose any Lead Ads form that you synced to your ActiveCampaign account with this trigger
    • You cannot use this trigger with any other automation triggers. You can use only one filter to segment this trigger
  • Lead Ad Form is updated
    • Contacts are pulled into the automation when a field you specify changes from one value to another in the Lead Ads object
    • You can choose any Lead Ads form that you synced to your ActiveCampaign account with this trigger
    • You cannot use this trigger with any other automation triggers. You can use only one filter to segment this trigger
