Understanding the difference between a form submit action and the opt-in confirmation action

Marketing_Lite_Plus_Professional_Enterprise

ActiveCampaign forms that have double opt-in enabled will have a Form Submit action and an Opt-in Confirmation Action.

The Form Submit action is triggered when a contact submits your form.

  • If single opt-in is enabled, all contacts regardless of their list status will see this action.
  • If double opt-in is enabled, only contacts who do not have an active status for your list will trigger this action.

The Opt-in Confirmation action is part of the double opt-in process and is triggered when:

  • A contact clicks on the confirmation link contained in their opt-in confirmation email.
  • A contact already has an active status for your list when they submit your form.
