SMS segment conditions allow you to segment based on how your contacts engage in your SMS sends. You can use these segments to send targeted campaigns or relevant notifications. For example, you can segment contacts that have not replied to any SMS messages to retarget them with a specific one-off message.

Segment conditions for SMS
Below are the segment conditions available for the SMS Add-on:
SMS segment condition | Definition |
Has replied | Searches for contacts who have replied to the SMS specified in the condition. |
Has not replied | Searches for contacts who have not replied to the SMS specified in the condition. |
Has been sent | Searches for contacts who have been sent the SMS specified in the condition. |
Has not been sent | Searches for contacts who have not been sent the SMS specified in the condition. |
This reply message |
Searches for contacts who replied to an SMS message when entering an automation via the "Replies to an SMS message" automation trigger. Available within the “Advanced > Segment the contacts entering this automation” option for the “Replies to an SMS message” automation trigger. It can also be used within the following automation actions if the automation uses the “Replies to an SMS message” trigger:
This segment condition cannot be used in the following areas:

Has clicked on a link |
Looks for contacts who clicked a link in your broadcast SMS message. With this, you can select “SMS” as a channel, a specific or any SMS message, and a specific or any SMS link. |
Has not clicked |
Looks for contacts who did not click a link in your broadcast SMS message. With this, you can select “SMS” as a channel, a specific or any SMS message, and a specific or any SMS link. |
When you create a segment using these conditions, the default operator will be “Any channel.” To build an SMS segment, click the operator dropdown, then click “SMS.”
