About login verification codes

ActiveCampaign prioritizes the security of your account and the valuable data that it contains. One way we do this is by adding a verification layer to your account login process. This extra layer is an automatic email sent to the email address associated with your user account when we detect a new or unusual login attempt. This email message contains a login verification code to use for gaining access to your account.

If you receive one of these notices and do not recognize the login attempt, we recommend that you immediately reset your password and report this activity to our Support team as soon as possible.

When will I encounter this verification?

This verification step will appear if:

  • Your account does not have multi-factor authentication (MFA) enabled
  • You are not logging in via single sign-on (SSO)
  • You have not opted in to “Remember Me for 45 days”

To help protect your account, we recommend all of our clients enable multi-factor authentication. It's very easy to enable, and you can learn how to here: “Set up multi-factor authentication for your ActiveCampaign account” help article.

When should I choose to “Remember Me” and why?

You can reduce the additional step by checking the “Remember Me” checkbox. A remembered location will not be prompted for a 45-day period.

For your account security, we do not recommend using “Remember Me” when accessing your account from public, unprotected networks such as coffee shops, hotels, and airports.

I cannot find the verification code in my email

Check whether your email address is matching your login email with ActiveCampaign. If you do not have access to your login email, see Support Help.

If the email address is correct, and you have not received our email titled “Your ActiveCampaign Verification Code” within a couple of minutes, your email provider might be automatically filtering these notifications.

Try the following:

  • Search your email inbox for no-reply@activecampaign.com and allowlist/mark as a safe sender for future delivery
  • Check your spam or junk email folders
  • Check your inbox folders and tabs (for example, Promotions or Social)

I have the email but the verification code expired

Click the “Resend code” option located on your account login page.

I no longer have access to my email to receive the verification code

If you no longer have access to your login email or the email address is no longer valid, you will need to work with your ActiveCampaign account admin to update your login email address.

What if I receive a verification for a login that I did not attempt?

You should immediately reset your password and report this activity to ActiveCampaign as soon as possible.

What are other ways to help prevent unauthorized access to my ActiveCampaign account?

You can take other steps to keep your account safe and secure. We highly recommend setting up multi-factor authentication (MFA, available on all plans) or single sign-on (SSO, available on the Enterprise plan). Once you implement MFA or SSO, you will no longer be asked to verify your login attempt.
