Use ActiveCampaign Site Tracking with WordPress

Once you configure the WordPress plugin, you can install ActiveCampaign's site tracking code. Doing so inserts site tracking code into every page of your WordPress site. This lets you track page visits of identified contacts.

Install ActiveCampaign Site Tracking code

  1. Log into your WordPress account.
  2. Click Settings > ActiveCampaign.
  3. Click the "Install ActiveCampaign code" toggle to set it to the "On" position. When on, the toggle will appear blue:

  4. Two site tracking options will expand. Click the option that works best for you. You can choose from:
    • Track by default
      This setting is selected by default. It will track page visits and IP addresses for all known contacts without explicit consent. Page visits and IP addresses are considered personal data.
    • Don't track by default
      This option will not track known contacts by default. Your contacts will only be tracked after they confirm tracking consent. You must create a tracking consent notice and connect it to this plugin.
  5. Click the "Update Settings" button.

To turn off site tracking anytime, click the "Enable site tracking" toggle to set it to its "Off" position.
