How do I import contacts with multiple values for a contact field?

To import contacts with more than one value for a custom contact field (ie, if you've collected information using a multi-select field), you'll need to do some slight modifications to your CSV file before you import it. 

1. In your CSV file, locate the cell with multiple values for the field you wish to import for your contact.
2. In between each value, insert double bars. They look like this: ||

For example, your single cell can look like this for a contact: Ice Cream||Cookies||Cake

You do not need to add a space between the || and the value— a space will automatically appear in between each value for the contact when they're imported.

Once the file is modified to include double bars, you can proceed with importing it into your ActiveCampaign account.
