How to resend a campaign

With ActiveCampaign, you can resend your campaign to contacts on your list, send your campaign to new subscribers, or create a new campaign based on the one you already sent.

Campaign resend options

We offer three different options for you to resend your campaign:

  1. Create a new campaign based on this campaign.
    This option will create a copy of your campaign that you can send to a list or segment. You can send this campaign immediately or schedule it to send at a future date and time on the Campaign Summary page.
  2. Send to new contacts (since this campaign was originally sent).
    This option will send your campaign to contacts that subscribed to your list after the initial campaign was sent. If your original email had a segment that used an “Or” statement, you will not be able to use this resend option. We recommend using the “Create a new campaign based on this campaign” instead.
    With this option, you can change the campaign name and subject line. This email can only be sent immediately; it cannot be scheduled to send at a future date and time.
  3. Send to contacts who have not read/opened this campaign.
    This option will resend your campaign to contacts who did not open or read the previous send. If your original email had a segment that used an “Or” statement, you will not be able to use this resend option. We recommend using the “Create a new campaign based on this campaign” instead.
    With this option, you can change the campaign name and subject line. This email can only be sent immediately; it cannot be scheduled to send at a future date and time.
    Contacts who use the Apple Mail app with iOS 15 with Mail Privacy Protection enabled will be excluded from this resend option. To learn more, visit ActiveCampaign and Apple iOS 15 Mail Privacy Protection.

How to resend your campaign

  1. Click “Campaigns” on the left menu.
  2. Click the dropdown for the campaign you wish to resend and click “Resend Options.”
  3. Click the resend option you want to use. Then click “Continue.”
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the resend option.
    • If you choose “Create a new campaign based on this campaign” you will walk through each step of creating and sending a new campaign
    • If you choose “Send to new contacts” or “Send to contacts that have not opened,” you will be redirected to the “Reuse an existing campaign” page. Here you can change the campaign name and subject line
  5. Based on the Campaign resend options above, you can either click "Send Now" to send your campaign, or click “Schedule” further down the page to send your email at a later date and time.
