You can tag contacts when they click a link in your direct or automated campaign. This is useful for tracking engagement and identifying interests.
For example, you can tag a contact when they click a link to watch a video, or you can tag them when they click a link that brings them to a product page on your website. You can then use this information to send targeted emails based on their interests.
You must enable link tracking to tag a contact when they link a link in your campaign.

How to add tags with automation actions
This method can be used with the Email designer (launched in 2022), the Classic designer, campaigns created with the "Text Only" or "Custom HTML" builders, and 1:1 emails.
- Click Automations on the left menu.
- Click the "Create an automation" button.

Click "Start from Scratch" then click "Continue."
- A modal window will appear. Select the "Clicks a link in an email" automation trigger. Then, click "Continue."
- Choose either the "Campaign" or "1:1 email" option.
- Use the dropdowns to select the email and link.
- Choose if the automation should run once or multiple times
- Click "Save."

Click the node (+) in the automation builder to add the "Add a tag" action.
- A modal window will appear. Click "Contacts" on the left menu of the modal, then click "Add a tag."

Type the tag you wish to add to contacts when they reach this step in your automation, then click "Save."
- Click "Active" on the top right to turn the automation on.
