This article explains how automations are handled when you downgrade your account.
What happens to my automations when I downgrade my account?
Automations are deactivated if they contain triggers or actions not supported by your plan tier.
The deactivated automations will appear in a separate section located at the top of the Automations Overview page:
How do I fix my deactivated automations?
We will flag each trigger and action that is no longer available in the affected automation.
To fix your automation, remove the flagged trigger or action, then click the "Active" button. Contacts can now enter your automation if they meet your trigger conditions.
If the automation no longer contains a trigger, you may need to add a new one so that contacts can enter it. You can also manually add contacts to your automation with the Bulk Editor.
If you downgrade to a Starter plan, we will deactivate automations with more than five actions. You can reactivate these automations once you remove the following:
- Unsupported triggers
- Unsupported actions
- Extra actions
What happens to contacts in a flagged action?
This can only happen for Goal actions set to "Wait until the conditions are met." In this scenario, because the automation is inactive, contacts will remain in the action until you delete it. Once you delete the action and set the automation to "Active," contacts will move to the next action in your automation.
What happens if I change my plan?
We will recheck every automation when you change plans. This may change which actions or triggers we flag in an automation and which ones you can reactivate. However, we will not reactivate any automations that were previously deactivated due to a downgrade.
