No. When renaming things in ActiveCampaign, you may see different behavior depending on which platform feature you're changing.
Use the guide below to verify if name changes in your ActiveCampaign account will occur automatically or need to be done manually.
Contact tags
The following platform areas will automatically change to reflect an updated contact tag:
- Contact records
- Segment/Advanced Search conditions (including "If/Else" and "Wait" automation actions that use those conditions)
- Automation triggers
- "Add a tag" and "Remove a tag" automation actions
The following platform areas will need to be manually edited to reflect a renamed tag:
Custom fields
The following platform areas will automatically change to reflect a renamed custom field:
- Segment/Advanced Search conditions (including "If/Else" and "Wait" automation actions that use those conditions)
- Automation triggers
- Automation actions
- Conditional Content (unless the personalization tag is changed)
The following platform areas will need to be manually edited to reflect a renamed custom field:
- Custom Field Personalization Tags in Campaigns
- When you update a custom field, we recommend updating the personalization tag for that field for consistency. This can be done on the Manage Fields page in your account
Automation names
When you rename an Automation, the new name will automatically populate across all areas of your ActiveCampaign account, including:
- Segment/Advanced Search conditions
- Automation actions
- Link Actions
Campaign names
When you rename a Campaign, the new name for that Campaign will automatically populate across all areas of your ActiveCampaign account, including:
Links in a campaign
If you update a link in a campaign, it is not reflected in the rest of your ActiveCampaign account. Instead, a new object for the updated link is generated, and all segment conditions, etc., will still reference the previous URL. All platform areas using the old URL need to be manually changed to use the new URL.
