Using automations to manage your deals

Utilize the full power of ActiveCampaign’s marketing automation features to automate and organize your Deals CRM pipeline.

Automatically create or update a deal

From within your automation, you can choose to automatically create a deal for your contact after they submit a form, when they visit a web page, when they achieve a goal, and more.

 

You can also use an automation to update the deal title, status, stage, add a task, etc.

When a deal score changes

Start an automation that begins as soon as a contact reaches a specific deal score. Click the “Score changes” trigger and the score you want the trigger to use. Then define the score that should trigger the automation and set if the automation should run once or multiple times.

When the deal is created

Start an automation that begins as soon as a deal enters a specific pipeline. Click the “Enters a pipeline” trigger and select the pipeline. Set if the automation should run once or multiple times.

When the deal stage changes

Start an automation that begins as soon as a deal moves from one stage to another within a specific pipeline. Click the “Deal stage changes” trigger and select your pipeline. Then choose the stages and set if the automation should run once or multiple times.

When the deal status changes (Open, Won, Lost)

Start an automation that begins as soon as a deal is marked as open, won or lost. Click the “Deal status changes” trigger and for the “Deal status changes to” dropdown, select your stage. Set the automation to run once or multiple times.

When a task is created or when a task is completed

From the deal view screen, you can choose to add a contact to an automation when you add a task or when the task is completed. Click on “Add Task” from the bottom of your deal screen. Select your task type and click on the automate icon located on the lower right of your task window. In the modal pop up select the automation you want to add this contact to and if they should be added once the task is added or when the task is completed.

When a note is added

From the deal view screen you can choose to add the contact to an automation when you add a note. Click on “Add Note” from the bottom of your deal screen. Enter your note and click on the automate icon located on the bottom right of your add note window. Select the automation you want to add this contact to.

When an email is sent, they reply to an email, or when they open an email

From the deal view screen you can choose to add the contact to an automation when you send the email or when they reply to the email. You must setup your email account on the Settings page (My Settings > Deal) for the reply option to be available. For more information on how to connect your IMAP account, view this help doc.

Click on “Send Email” from the bottom of your deal screen. Type your email and lick on the automate icon located on the bottom right of your send email window. Select the automation you want to add the contacts to and if they should be added when you send the email or when they reply to your email.



To add a contact to an automation when they open an email, select the “Opens/reads an email” trigger from your automation and select “When a contact opens a personal email.”

Dynamically adjust a deal score

From within your automation, you can add or subtract points from a deal score each time a specific behavior occurs. For more information on how to create a deal score, view this help document.
