You can add and remove a form in your Shopify store without using code.

Take note

  • You must configure the ActiveCampaign Shopify integration to use this feature
  • Only Modal, Floating Box, and Floating Bar form types are supported. It is not possible to add an Inline form to your Shopify store
  • You can only have one form embedded in your Shopify store

  • If any edits are made to the form after you embed it, you need to republish the form to your store
  • Only customers who use the ActiveCampaign Shopify integration will have the "Ecommerce" form integration option

How it works

The Shopify form embed option is available for all customers who use the ActiveCampaign Shopify integration. With this option, you can use the form builder to add a Modal, Floating Box, or Floating Bar form to your Shopify store without using code. This embed option does not work with Inline forms.

You can add a form to your store to grow your email marketing list, share discount codes or gated content with customers, and more.

There are two ways to create a form that you can add to your store. One way is to create a form from the "Getting Started" checklist. This option gives you two form template options: Discount Code template and Discount template. The other way is to create a form in the Forms area of your ActiveCampaign account. More information on these options is below.

Once you add the form to your store, it will appear on your store's homepage only. Adding the form to multiple store pages or choosing a different store page is impossible. You can only publish one form to your store.

Note that this form is static on your store, similar to an image on a page. If you publish the form and then change it in ActiveCampaign, those changes will not appear in your store's form. You'll need to republish the form to your store each time you modify it.

If you no longer need the form published in your store, you can remove it with a click of a button.

Add a form to your Shopify store

An "Ecommerce" option on the "Integrate your form" page appears for all customers who use the ActiveCampaign Shopify integration. You can use this option to publish your form to your store. This embed option works with Modal, Floating Bar, and Floating Box form types.

To publish your form to your store:

  1. Click Website > Forms.
  2. Click "Edit design" for the form you wish to add to your Shopify store. Alternatively, you can create a new form
  3. Click the "Integrate" button on the form builder.
  4. Click the "Ecommerce" tab.
  5. Click the store dropdown and choose the Shopify store to which you want to publish your form.
  6. Click the "Publish to your store" button.

Your form is published to your store, and you can collect list subscribers.

Modify your form

You can modify your form as needed right from the form builder. For example, you can edit your form to match your store's brand and colors. You also have the option to use a double opt-in method (recommended) or a single opt-in method for your form.

It may take up to 15 minutes for you to see the updated form on your store.

To learn how to edit the look of your form, visit Design and customize your ActiveCampaign form.

To learn more about opt-in options, visit Double opt-in versus single opt-in.

Remove a form from your Shopify store

  1. Click Website > Forms.
  2. Click "Edit design" for the form you wish to remove from your Shopify store.
  3. Click the "Integrate" button on the form builder.
  4. Click the "Ecommerce" tab.
  5. Click the "Remove from Store" button.

The form will be removed from your store.

Create a form from the "Getting Started" checklist

The "Getting Started" checklist appears when your first sign up for your ActiveCampaign account. If you connect your Shopify store to ActiveCampaign through this checklist, we will prompt you to create a form for your store. We will provide you with two templates to choose from: "Discount Code" and "Newsletter sign-up."

Both templates use the Modal form type.

Discount code template

If you choose the Discount Code template, we will prompt you to add a discount code on the next screen. You'll need to create this code in your Shopify store.

We will then redirect you to the form builder, where you can continue to modify your form and select a list to which you want to add subscribers.

We dynamically add your discount code to the "Thank you" message option for the "On Submit" form action.

Example

The same message and code will display for each customer who submits your form. It is impossible to display a unique message and code for each customer.

The form template will not add the discount code to your opt-in confirmation email. If you want the discount code to appear in this email, you need to add it manually. To learn how to edit your opt-in confirmation email, you can visit How to edit your opt-in confirmation email.

Newsletter sign-up template

If you choose this template type from the checklist, we will prompt you to select the email subscription list. We will then redirect you to the form builder to continue to modify your form.

Create a form from the Forms section of your account

If you didn't choose a template from the "Getting Started" checklist, you can still create a form and publish it to your Shopify store. All you need to do is create a Modal, Floating Box, or Floating Bar form, then follow the embed instructions above.

If you want a discount code to appear for customers after they submit your form, you can generate the code in your store and manually add it to your form's "Thank you" message.
