Learn how to use ActiveCampaign navigation so you can easily locate features in your account.
Menu items and features available depend on your ActiveCampaign plan and user permissions.
Take note
- Marketing and Ecommerce (Legacy) dashboards:
- Marketing dashboard - For accounts created on or before July 23, 2025, to switch between the ActiveCampaign homepage with Active Intelligence and the Marketing Dashboard experiences, click Settings > Account > “Account Information” > “New homepage” toggle
- Ecommerce Dashboard - This dashboard has moved to Reports > Ecommerce dashboard
- For accounts created after July 23, 2025, the ActiveCampaign homepage will be your default and only option
Top navigation bar
The top navigation bar includes:

ActiveCampaign logo
: Click this icon to navigate to your account’s homepage

Your AI
: Click this icon to open a left side panel where you can use Active Intelligence to browse old and create new chats, view and create scheduled tasks, and customize your AI

Active Intelligence
: Click this icon to open a left side panel where you can chat with Active Intelligence
-
Insights
: Click this icon to open to review and execute recommendations based on your account activity from Active Intelligence. This icon only appears when there are recommendations for you to review

Search
: Click this icon to search for contacts, email campaigns, and deals
-
Help
: Click this icon to access the ActiveCampaign community, help articles, and product updates

Settings
: Click this icon to access your account information, update your account appearance, create brand kits, user permissions, and more

Profile
: Note that you may see an image instead of an icon. Click this option to view your contact limit, access billing, view support tickets, log out of your account, and more
Left navigation bar
The left side navigation bar contains tools grouped together by function. When you click an icon on the left navigation bar, a side panel appears with specific features you can access and use.
For example, clicking the contacts icon opens a panel where you can view and create contacts, accounts, lists, segments, scoring, and more.
The panel is on the left side of your account and is sometimes referred to as secondary navigation in the Help Center.
You can show and hide the left panel by clicking the panel icon. This icon appears when you are on a feature-related page.

Business Goals
: Pages and tools related to business goals. Here you can create business goals, conversions, and view reporting

Contacts
: Pages, tools, and resources related to contact management. Here you can view, add, and archive contacts, access individual contact records, and create advanced searches, subscription lists, segments, tags, fields, scoring, view reporting, and more

Automations
: Pages, tools, and resources related to automations. Here you can create, view, import, and edit automations. Access your automations map, manage automation messages and transactional email, and access reporting

Email
: Pages, tools, and resources related to email marketing. Here you can create, edit, and send email campaigns. Manage email campaign templates, message variables, and campaign archives, and access reporting

SMS
: Pages, tools, and resources related to SMS marketing. Here you can create and edit SMS broadcast campaigns, register your phone number for A2P 10DLC, set up a subdomain to create custom links, create an SMS subscription form, access and manage your SMS inbox for two-way messaging, sending options, keywords, and reporting

WhatsApp
: Pages, tools, and resources related to WhatsApp. Here you can connect your phone number, test WhatsApp Messaging, access your WhatsApp inbox, create messaging flows, and manage templates, notifications, settings, WhatsApp button, webhooks, dev monitoring, and view reports

Deals
: Pages, tools, and resources related to the Deals CRM feature. Here you can create and edit deals, create and manage tasks, saved responses, fields, deal settings, connected emails, task settings, calendar, and access reports

: Pages, tools, and resources related to sign up forms, landing pages, and site tracking. Here you can create and manage sign up forms, pages, site messages, set up site tracking, and view reporting

: View account reports for contacts, automations, email, SMS, deals, and website
Smart Start Guide
Trial accounts only.
The Smart Start Guide appears on your Active Intelligence homepage when you start a trial account. It gives you a clear path to set up your account by walking you through three tasks. Each task uses Active Intelligence to help you build and create brand kits, email campaigns, and automations, no prior experience needed.
